Empowering Women. Uplifting Children. Transforming Communities. |
|
At Sensee Foundation of Hope, we believe that sustainable change begins with practical support and compassionate presence. Our programs address the real needs of children, widows, and young women—creating opportunities for growth, dignity, and transformation.
Education for Underprivileged Children
In many Liberian communities, children are kept out of school—not due to lack of potential, but because their families can’t afford school supplies, fees, or even transportation. We step in to remove those barriers. Through scholarships, backpacks, notebooks, uniforms, and learning materials, we equip children with what they need to attend school and thrive. In 2022, we went a step further by renovating and opening our own community school. Today, we proudly support the academic growth of underserved children, including the first five students who sat for the West African Examination in 2025.

"Before the foundation helped me, I stayed home while others went to school. Now I wear a uniform, carry my books, and dream of becoming a teacher." — Blessing, age 11 |
Widows Care Program
Many widows in Liberia are left to care for grandchildren with little or no support. Often overlooked and under-resourced, they face hunger and hardship daily. Our Widows Care Program provides monthly food packages—consisting of rice, oil, salt, and seasonings—to help meet their most basic needs. Each widow is pre-screened based on her living situation and vulnerability. By walking alongside them with dignity and compassion, we bring hope and stability to some of the most fragile households in the communities we serve.

"The bag of rice may seem small to others, but to me, it means my grandchildren and I won’t go to bed hungry tonight. God bless the Sensee Foundation." — Ma Yatta, widow and caregiver |
Young Women Empowerment
Young women—especially those forced into early childhood marriages, getting pregnant early due to lack of support from family—often lack both opportunity and support. Our empowerment program offers them a fresh start. We provide financial assistance for vocational training in areas like tailoring, interior decoration, and hairdressing, while also offering mentorship and guidance for personal growth. With the right tools and encouragement, these women are rebuilding their lives, earning their own income, and becoming role models for their children and peers.

Annual Children’s Holiday – A Community Celebration
What began in 2019 as a small Christmas outreach has grown into a cherished community tradition. Each December, we host a celebration where children receive hot meals, toys, school supplies, and joy. For many, it’s their only celebration of the year where they are reminded that they are loved and not forgotten.

"That was the happiest day of my life. We ate, we danced, and I got my first toy ever!" — Joshua, age 7 |
