Bernadette Parser Kokoua
Director- Widows and Orphans Programs
Bernadette was born and raised in Monrovia, Liberia. Growing up in West Point, she encountered some of the difficulties that most of the underprivileged encounter in society today. At one time she too was an orphan and lived under the care of the nuns at St. Teresa’s Covent. Bernadette’s passion for helping and caring for the underprivileged started during her childhood when she went out with the Sisters to the prisons and hospitals to pray with and for the people. Her inspirations came when she visited the children’s ward with the nuns, at the John Fitzgerald Kennedy Medical Center in Liberia, West Africa. There she met many abandoned children, which affected her life the most. Mrs. Kokoua’s lifelong goal, desire and ambition, is to open an orphanage where deserving and underprivileged children will have love, food, shelter, compassionate care and education. To prepare for this role, Mrs. Kokoua has worked in the healthcare sector where she obtained certification in Respiratory Therapy and Foster Childcare. In addition to being a foster parent, she open her heart and home to those in need of food and love. She is dedicated to making sure that the children are given the best possible care and education they need, which will enable them to be productive in the future and break the cycle of poverty. |
